Visitation / Washington County Inmate Search
The jail allows outsiders to visit with inmates. Each inmate is allowed to list two names on his or her visitation card. Visitation occurs every Wednesday between the hours of 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m. Each visitor may visit with an inmate once a week for 15 minutes. With the exception of attorney visits, all visits at the jail are non-contact.
To make an appointment for visitation, please call the jail at 251-847-2202 on Monday or Tuesday between the hours of 8:00 am and 4:00 pm. Visitation Rules
- Children are not permitted in the jail lobby during visitation.
- Bags, purses, and cell phone are prohibited during visitation.
- The visitation dress code is strictly enforced. Females must dress appropriately or visitation will be denied. Skirts and pants must fall below the knee, and shirts must have sleeves and cover the chest. Tank tops, leggings, shorts, and tight-fitting clothing is prohibited.

- Third-party letters (in addition, inmates are prohibited from forwarding letters to other inmates confined at the jail or at other correctional facilities)
- Personal checks or cash
- Blank paper or envelopes
- Bubble or padded envelopes
- Cologne, power, or perfume
- Hair or bodily fluids
- Mail that has been kissed
- Cards or letters that contain glitter, tape, labels, or stickers
- Dirty or stained mail
- Gum, food items, or food wrappers/labels
- Photographs
- Any materials that depicts gang affiliation, sex, or violence
Sheriff’s Office
The Washington County Sheriff’s Office employs over 30 staff members and reserve officers. The office provides law enforcement services to over 17,000 citizens and is responsible for an area of approximately 1,080 square miles.
