The Pike County Sheriff’s Department aims to provide law enforcement services maintain to the community and to maintain social order within prescribed constitutional, budgetary, and ethical constraints. The department also strives to maintain order and enforce the law in an impartial and fair manner, recognizing the need to provide justice and the appearance of justice. The county, which is located in Alabama, was home to approximately 33,000 people as of the year 2020.  The seat of the county is Troy, and it is named for General Zebulon Pike, who was an explorer from the 1800s. The county’s current area was once inhabited by prehistoric Native Americans France, Spain,  and Great Britain all once claimed the area.
