The Pickens County Jail, which is located in Carrollton, Alabama, houses inmates who’ve been accused of a variety of crimes. Inmates are allowed to send and receive mail. Visitation / Pickens County Inmate Roster
Each inmate is permitted to create a visitation list. This list may include three family members and one minister. You must be on an inmate’s visitation list to visit with the inmate. To schedule a visit with an inmate, please call 205-367-2006. Before scheduling a visit, it is recommended that you first confirm the inmate’s presence at the facility by searching the Pickens County inmate roster. Visitation at the jail occurs on Monday through Friday (except for holidays and court days) between 9:00 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. and between 1:00 p.m. and 3:00 p.m.

Visitors
- The jail conducts background checks on all visitors.
- Visitors all visitors must provide a Social Security number to the jail prior to visiting.
- All visitors over the age of 18 must possess a valid ID card or driver’s license with a photograph and a current address.
- Visitors are required to sign in upon arrival at the jail.
- People who have been incarcerated in jail or prison may not visit the facility.
- Every inmate at the jail is allowed two 30-minute visits each month.
- The jail may approve one-hour visits for visitors who travel more than 300 miles away from the jail.
- Attorneys are permitted to visit their clients without an appointment.
- Attorneys are permitted to enter the jail side of visitation if necessary.
- Facility staff will search all visitors upon entry.
- Tobacco products are prohibited during visitation.
- Food and drinks are prohibited during visitation.
- No packages, photographs, or mail may be left for an inmate by a visitor.
- Vulgar language during visitation is prohibited.
Prohibited Items
Visitors are prohibited from bringing items into the jail during visitation, including bags, purses, recording devices, mobile phones, writing instruments, keys, and weapons. All items must remain in each visitor’s vehicle. Visitors may leave keys with secretaries in the front office.
Visitor Dress Code
- See-through or revealing clothing is prohibited.
- Sleeves that are shorter than halfway down the upper arm are not allowed.
- Halter tops and swimwear are prohibited.
- Tights or spandex without shorts or a skirt are prohibited.
- Skirts, dresses, or shorts above mid-thigh are prohibited.
- Clothing that displays gang affiliations or offensive or obscene language or drawings is prohibited.
- Sleepwear is prohibited.
- Undergarments are required during visitation.
- Any other clothing that the jail deems to be unacceptable is prohibited.
Additional Visitation Rules
- Visitors who are under the influence of any intoxicating substance or who are unruly will be denied visitation and are subject to arrest.
- Inmates and visitors must act appropriately during visitation.
- Physical contact between inmates and visitors is prohibited.
- Visitors must exit the visitation area at the end of the visit or at the direction of a member of the jail’s staff.
- Children under the age of 15 may not be left unattended.

Inmates are permitted to speak on the phone to their friends, family members, and legal representatives. Inmates are given three days after booking to provide telephone numbers to use in the jail’s phone system. The jail uses an outside phone provider called Securus Technologies.
