• Any person who fails to follow the jail’s rules will have to leave. Failure to leave following a request to do so may result in a permanent ban.

• All postcards must measure 4″ by 6″ and be white.

• Postcard ink may only be blue or black.

• Jail personnel make copies of all incoming postcards and provide them to the inmates.

• The jail does not accept hand-delivered mail.

• Packages are not permitted.

• Photographs are not permitted.

• Mail that appears to contain contraband will not be accepted.

• All mail must contain the sender’s complete name, the sender’s complete address, and the inmate’s full name.

• Jail staff may inspect and read mail before delivering it to the inmate.

Sheriff’s Office / Coffee County Inmate Roster

The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office operates the jail in New Brockton, Alabama. The Coffee County Sheriff’s Office is responsible for enforcing the law and maintaining public safety in the county. In addition, the sheriff’s office employs approximately 80 sworn officers and 30 civilian staff members. County Sheriff / Coffee County Inmate Roster

Sheriff Dave Sutton’s life has been marked by a commitment to service. He graduated high school in 1965, and two years later, he was drafted into the United States Army. Serving in Vietnam as an enlisted SSG from 1968-1969, he returned to civilian life in 1969 and became a police officer in Texas while attending Jr. College. After graduating from Hardin Simmons University with a BS in Criminal Justice, he entered the US Army as an officer in the Medical Service Corps, eventually entering flight school at Fort Rucker in 1975.

Throughout his career, he was stationed at various bases across the world, including Fort Hood, Germany, Korea, Fort Sam Houston TX, and Redstone Arsenal. He also served in Desert Storm/Desert Shield in Saudi Arabia before retiring in 1995 as a LTC after attending the Command General Staff College. Following retirement, he continued to serve as an instructor in ROTC at Evergreen and Enterprise High School. In addition, in 2007, he was elected Sheriff and has held the position to this day. Sheriff Sutton is married to Debbie Sutton, and they have three children and six grandchildren.
